My air compressor is in the basement under my house, inside an sound-insulating box. An air line runs out to the garage, and the main air line is a reel that I installed sideways in this bench.



Here you can see the reel while I was building the bench:



I don't have a hydraulic press. I keep some of my tools -- like my welder, press brake and some other metal fabrication tools, and also some car parts -- out in a shed I built in the driveway. It was a kind of impulsive decision to build it. The curves of the two rooflines correspond to a dinner and dessert plate, when traced onto graph paper in my kitchen the morning I went out to buy the lumber.

Ici y'a pas mal de vent, je suis sur une butte argileuse donc vaut mieux de la "vraie" fondation je pense Mais la construction est vraiment sympa, j'ai pas encore tout lu.

Yes, just about everything in the shop had to be built, usually out of broken cabinets and other pieces that I bought second-hand. The bench at the opening of the shop has the first piece of steel I ever bent into a curve. I also dug the hole for the lift and poured the concrete in there.

The tile is ceramic. It's held up to a lot of use (and abuse) for over 5 years, now. If you install tile correctly, it is very strong.
